All dogs over the age of 12 months must be desexed.
-
Undesexed females under the age of 12 months can not attend Barks and Recreation if they are in season.
-
Pet parents must have completed the intake questionnaire, agreed to our terms and conditions and provided proof of vaccinations and desexing before your dog can attend their first day.
Your dog's first day
On your dog's first visit, staff will take some extra time to meet with you and go over any last minute requirements, fill out any necessary paperwork, or just have a chat to calm those first day nerves!
During the day, staff will work closely with your dog to help them settle in and get comfortable with the space. They will be evaluated by our attendants who are highly skilled in reading dog body language and behaviour, and they will be carefully introduced to some compatible doggy playmates.
At times, certain dogs may require more than one visit to enable staff to fully assess their temperament and how they interact with the rest of our family. We prioritise the wellbeing and safety of all Barks and Recreation family members, and we will be open with you on those occasions when your pup is just not suited to a daycare environment. We want all of our furry friends to have an enjoyable experience at Barks and Recreation – our aim is for them to come running through the door in the mornings!
